Chocolate Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie

This is seriously the Picasso of all my spur-of-the-moment recipe ideas. We all know chocolate is the best thing God put on earth  but to combine it with the slightest tartness of blueberries is, shall I say, pure heavenly bliss? You have to try this recipe, I mean, you just have to or else I know you're going to be looking at the picture dreaming of how good this will taste when you can just muster up the strength and do it! You won't regret it, unless you're someone who hates enjoying life!

Recipe is for 2 (obviously if you're a solo smoothier, cut it in half)

2 cups almond milk (unsweetened)
1 frozen banana (yes, if you want it to be even more refreshing, make it frozen)
1/4 cup frozen blueberries (you get the idea)
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 tbsp unsweetened dark or regular cocoa powder
1 tsp honey
2 tsp. raw sugar
A few ice cubes (so it looks all smoothie-like)

Put it all in a blender and blend for about 1 minute or until all the ice is pureed. I know one minute seems like an eternity when heaven's knocking at your door!

Seared Salmon With Sweet Onion And Carrots

I was reading about all the health benefits of salmon and spices, (especially cayenne and ginger), so I decided to put together a scrumptious recipe that pleases your palette as well as your body. If you're not a spicy lover, then I suggest either cutting out the cayenne entirely or using less than what's called for. Here's to your health!

Recipe for 2 salmon filets:
1 white or yellow onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup baby carrots, sliced width-wise
1 tsp rice vinegar
2-1/2 tbsp lemon juice (half a lemon)
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp thyme
Salt to taste
Olive oil (regular and extra virgin)
1 tsp minced ginger

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with tin foil and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. In a pan on medium heat, add the regular olive oil and saute the vegetables and spices for seven to 10 minutes until onions are goldened and carrots are softened. Place the salmon filets on top the baking sheet and scoop the onion-garlic mixture evenly across each filet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes.
